Jessica grew up knowing she wanted to be a helping hand in her community. She was “mother-hen” to her 9 younger cousins, the children she baby-sat in high school, and the children in her church’s nursery. In 2015, she graduated from Calvin College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
The first birth she experienced was in nursing school. It was then, holding the leg of a laboring woman, that she became enamored with this major moment in the life of a family. Jessica worked as a nurse for 5 years at Mary Free Bed, Saint Mary’s L&D, and a local doctors office. While she gained knowledge and experience, she felt an ache in her nurturing and caring soul that those positions could not satisfy. Jessica discovered the doula community and the ache quieted. She is a Certified Elite ProDoula Postpartum & Infant Care Doula. Jessica wants to help families celebrate and adjust seamlessly into their newly born family structure.
Jessica lives in Jenison with her husband and 2 small dogs named Oliver and Watson. She enjoys sewing, crocheting, and cultivating her green thumb.
