Birth Doula
Christy has spent most of her career working in child care. She is currently a part time child care worker for MVP Athletic Clubs and stays home with her 1 year old son Elijah during the rest of the week. She is a trained birth doula working toward her DONA International Certification.
Christy found her passion for birth work during her first pregnancy. She felt so inspired with the information she learned about pregnancy and childbirth, and how mamas can truly feel empowered with their birth experiences rather than defeated. She found herself wanting to know everything there was to know about birth and motherhood. Her research led her to Gold Coast Doulas, which she hired for her first birth. Despite the birth experience not going entirely to plan, Christy felt so supported with the care she received from her midwife and doula. She left her birth feeling so proud of everything her body had accomplished. After reflecting on her experience, she realized that birth work was exactly what she was being called to. Christy took her birth doula training through DONA in 2024, shortly after that she attended her first birth.
Christy lives in Holland and has been married to her best friend Trenton since 2021. In her free time, she likes to hunt and fish, help the community through her church, and chase her sweet toddler around the house.
