Cristina Stauffer, LMSW, CEIM has been passionate about serving women and young children throughout her career.  Pregnancy and early motherhood can be one of the most vulnerable times in a woman’s life. Cristina has been dedicated to supporting women through this delicate time by providing therapy and support, education and screening about perinatal mood and anxiety disorders such as postpartum depression and through teaching parents and caregivers the joy of infant massage. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and from Boston University with a Masters in Social Work.  Cristina became a Certified Educator of Infant Massage (CEIM) in 2005 and has incorporated this practice into many aspects of her career. She has been practicing in the field of social work with a focus on women and young children for over 20 years.

Cristina spent the first 10 years of her social work career at Arbor Circle, a local mental health and substance abuse agency, first as an Infant Mental Health therapist and then as the clinical supervisor for Early Childhood and Women’s Services.  Next, Cristina supervised the Women and Children’s care management team at Spectrum Health & Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital leaving this role after the birth of her first baby to spend more time with her young family.  Most recently, Cristina has been employed as a therapist with the Pine Rest Mother and Baby Partial Hospitalization Program specializing in treating women with perinatal depression and anxiety. Cristina has also been endorsed as an Infant Mental Health Specialist (IMH-E (III)) by the Michigan Association of Infant Mental Health and served on the MI-AIMH board of directors for several years.

Cristina resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan with her husband Kevin and their 2 young daughters. She enjoys spending time with close friends and family, practicing yoga, playing and creating with her little ones and pursuing a variety of creative outlets.
